The Disease of Violence and Street Soldiers Violence Prevention Model
Joe Marshall and Jack Jacqua founded Omega Boys Club/Street Soldiers in 1987 in response to the increasing number of inner city youth dropping out of school and being incarcerated or killed. It became clear that a culture of violence
was deeply ingrained in their lives, homes, neighborhoods, relationships with peers, as well as the movies, videos and music they enjoyed. Omega needed a practical tool to reduce and prevent violence, one that could deepen their understanding of it and effect change for those who faced it.
