About The Television Show

The year 2002 brought many firsts for Omega Boys Club / Street Soldiers, the least not being their move to television. The Street Soldiers radio show is already a national phenomena, attracting listeners from all regions. The goal for the television show is to reach as many people as we can.

Five television shows, ranging in topics from the soaring murder rate among African Americans in Oakland, to why some young women "get caught up" with thugs, aired on Oakland's KTOP, Governmental Access T.V. The topics were youth driven and included live call-ins, a question and answer portion, in-studio guests and one "Town Hall" show filmed live from Oakland's Castlemont High School. Future television projects are planned for San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Host: Dr. Marshall
DJ: Keenan Frost'King

The Street Soldiers television show has been a success by all accounts, so much so, that KTOP has continued to air the shows. The City of Oakland and the city's Police Department has helped fund the shows, which were well received by city officials and the community alike. The television show has allowed Street Soldiers to gain an entirely new audience. The goal for this television show is national syndication. We are aiming for a Public Broadcasting System or all cable television outlets to eventually pick the show up.
